A flint blade. A tertiary flake of mid grey-flint with a low-gloss patina. There is a small striking platform at the proximal end. On the ventral face is a well-defined bulb of percussion and several waves. On the dorsal face are several elongate, parallel flaking scars creating a trapeziodal cross section. There is edge-gloss along part of one long edge on the ventral face, probably from use of the blade. Date: Neolithic to Early Bronze Age Dimensions: 52 mm x 23 mm x 7 mm Weight: 10 g

A polished flint axe. Light grey flint, patinated almost all over to a honey coloured low gloss patina. There are several large off-white less siliceous patches. Several areas of plough damage. The proximal end has been broken off, probably in antiquity. There is more recent damage to the cutting edge. It has a pointed and oval cross section. The cutting edge is slightly convex curved. The axe tapers to the missing proximal end. The sides have been ground flat. There are polishing striations visible on the dorsal and ventral surfaces.

Miniature polished flint axe/chisel. Highly patinated, chalky, off-white flint with a patch of very chalky material at the proximal end. The axe is rectangular in outline with slightly flattened edges at the sides. The upper and lower faces taper in to form the cutting edge which is convex. The edges are slightly flattened. The butt end is broken at one side, probably due to the flaw in the flint noted above. The axe has a roughly oval profile. The surface has a chalky patina, but polishing striations are visible in some areas. There are a few deeper flaking scars which have not been co…

Flint scraper. Primary flake worked into a large, sub-rectangular scraper. Toffee coloured flint with lighter greyish mottles. Mid-gloss patina. The dorsal surface is almost completely covered in weathered nodule cortex. It has been flaked from the dorsal surface along two sides to produce a scraper. The retouch flakes are fairly large (sample 6mm x 3.5 mm). On the ventral surface is a large bulb of percussion with a long striking platform on the proximal edge.

Flint waste flake. Tertiary flake, probably from blade manufacture. At the distal end is a large striking platform. Ventrally there is a broad bulb of percussion and marked waves of percussion. There is a small flaking scar on the bulb. The dorsal surface has several elongate flaking scars. The end of the flake has been snapped off in antiquity (probably to make a blade). The flint is a light grey brown with large white mottles. It has a glossy milky patina.

Bi-facially worked, irregular flint core. Greyish white flint with a low gloss patina. There is a small area of greyish nodule cortex on one side. Most of the flaking is elongate and one one face only. There are one or two flaking scars on the opposite face. The main working on the core suggests bladelet production.

Awl made from a large secondary flake. Mid brownish grey flint with a mid-gloss milky patina and a large area of off-white nodule cortex. At the proximal end is a small striking platform below which the dorsal surface has flaked. There is a scarred bulb of percussion on the ventral face. The distal end of the flake has been trimmed on both edges to produce a small point. The edges incurve slightly and have numerous small flaking scars.

A small secondary flint flake, which has been snapped. There is a small striking platform at the proximal end and a clear bulb of percussion on the ventral surface. Waves radiate from here towards the distal end. Also at the proximal end is a small piece of nodule cortex. The mid-brown mottled flint has a mid-gloss patina. At the point where the flake has been snapped, its profile is triangular, with two even flaking scars on the dorsal side. The flake may be a by-product of blade manufacture.

A small worked flint object which may be the tip of a tool such as a knife. The flint is unifacially worked, with small regular pressure flaking on the dorsal side. The striking platform and bulb of percussion are missing because the flint has snapped just above the tip. At this point, the profile of the object is triangular with 3 flaking scars on the dorsal side. The milky light grey mid-gloss patina has been removed by the retouch to reveal more beige-coloured flint beneath. It is therefore possible that this formed part of a waste flake which was reworked at a later date.
