Flint bladelet core. Dark brownish grey mottled flint with a pale grey, mid gloss patina. Gravel flint. One face retains a patch of weathered cortex and also shows evidence of earlier breakage in the form of a patch of off-white patination. The core has been worked from two sides, having numerous elongate, blade-like scars on both. Plausibly Mesolithic.

Half of a pebble mace. Made from an orangey-grey quartzite pebble. It was originally sub-oval in shape. The perforation has an hour-glass profile indicating that it was made using a solid bit, drilling halfway from each side. Flint axe. Probable tranchet axe of Late Mesolithic date. Long, oval flaked axe with an oval cross section. Off-white flint with a heavy patina and orange iron staining. This object was unearthed many years ago and has been curated by the owners, hence its yellow-brown "mantlepiece" patina. The butt of the axe is tapered almost to a point. An axehead made on a partially naturally fractured flake of mid grey secondary flint. A crude tranchet style axehead. The surface has patinated to a very pale grey with areas of iron staining and a mid gloss. It has been crudely and steeply flaked to produce a tapering shape. The wider end has been modified with a single tranchet flake to form a crude cutting edge. There is some thin, abraded cortex on one face of the implement. A pyramid-shaped single platform core dating from the late Mesolithic period (6,000 BC) to early Neolithic period (3000 BC). There are approximately nine flake removals. A small area of cortex remains at the distal end. The core colour is banded from dark brown to a milky white with a silky smooth patina. The flint has a major flaw to one side which has probably rendered the core unsuitable for further flake removal. Dimensions are; Length 46.86 mm. Width 39.02 mm. Weight 52 grams. It has been knapped to produce an end scraper and side scraper and/or knife, both with worn retouches. The dorsal has a percentage of retained cortex that would aid with grip and applying pressure when utilising the tool as a knife. Dates from c10000 to c4001 BC. Length 29mm, width 16mm, thickness 4.5mm, weight 3.4g.
