Roman worn (possibly contemporary plated copy of a) Siliqua of Julian, VOT/X/MVLT/XX, prototype of Arles, 361-3. RIC VIII, c.f. no. 309. 18mm in diameter and weighing 1.71g.The National Finds Adviser wonders if this is a plated copy, or just a dis-coloured silver piece. It does appear to be clipped.

An incomplete bent copper alloy strip bow brooch of Late Iron Age to Roman date (c. AD 25 - 75). The pin and one of the wings is missing. The brooch has been bent, its maximum length is 28.95mm in length, 12.6mm wide, and weighs 2.26 grams.
The head is divided into two rolled wings divided by a central pin slot. The wings are rolled forwards to accomodate the missing axis bar. The bow tapers along its length to the foot and is decorated with a single central vertical groove running along its length. A copper-alloy enamelled Roman umbonate brooch with sprung pin. The brooch is incomplete although the pin has become detached and the lug appears to be a riveted replacement.
The brooch is domed to the front circled by a wide, deep channel. At the centre is a drilled circular recess. From this recess radiate two circular bands of triangular recesses, the majority are filled with red enamel. A copper alloy medieval double loop rectangular buckle, dating to c AD1350 - 1500. This has a rectangular suspension loop below and in line with the buckle loops, probably acting as a hanger for a sword harness. The main frame is 28mm in width and 21.43mm in height or length, not including the suspension loop. The hoops are roughly D shaped in cross section, and 3.30mm thick. The suspension loop extends 6.25mm from the main frame and is 13.66mm in width, 2.65mm thick. The whole is 27.06mm in height. It weighs 5.75g.

Both blades best described as rapiers and best placed in Burgess & Gerloff's 'Group III' (Burgess, C.B., and Gerloff, S. 1981. The Dirks and Rapiers of Great Britain and Ireland.

An incomplete Roman copper alloy Developed T-shaped brooch (South Western type), probably dating to c. AD 100-200. The surviving section comprises the head and upper bow. At the head cylindrical wings survive complete, retaining a copper alloy axis bar and the triangular perforated lug of the hinged pin in situ. Either wing tip is decorated with a semi-circumferential groove. A headplate projects from the top of the head, with the vestigial remains of an integral headloop, surmounting a transverse collar. An incomplete cast copper alloy Iron Age brooch of La Tene I type dating to 4th - 3rd c BC. It is missing some of the pin but is otherwise complete. The head, which is a a simple cylindrical piece at right angles to the bow has six coils wrapped around it. On one side, two coils are extensions of the bow and thus hold the bow to the head. An incomplete Roman copper alloy hinged developed T-shaped brooch, probably dating to c. AD 75-150. The brooch is missing the lower section of its pin, but is otherwise complete.
