A copper alloy Roman coin of 2nd century AD. An As of uncertain ruler (possibly Antoninus Pius) and obverse. The coin is very worn and has a pierced hole placed in front of the right facing bust. Coins with holes such as these have been found in later deposits (from the late Roman and Early-Medieval periods). Date: Roman - 2nd century but possibly re-used much later Diameter: 28.92 mm. Diameter of hole - 4.46 mm Weight: 13.36 g
