A fragment of a silver whistle.The circular chamber from the end of the whistle only. It comprises two hemispheres with flanged edges which have been soldered together.The hemipheres are dented. At one side is an oval aperture where the main body of the whistle would have been attached. Next to this is the stub of the missing s-shaped wire handle.
The form is that of a Boatswains's whistle, used for signalling on ships.

A fragment of a silver whistle.This fragment joins to the fragment previously recorded as Treasure case 2009 T399 (SOM-736C82). This is the lower part of the whistle and tapers to a rounded suspension loop with a circular aperture. Before the loop there are two rounded collars.The fragment has been cut at the break and is also split partway along.

A possible whetstone, hone-stone or polishing stone. A shaped quartzite pebble (probably a beach pebble). The pebble has several angular facets resulting in its broadly rectilinear shape. The profile shape is pentagonal. On both of the long faces there are areas of wear at the short edges. The upper surface, where two facets join together producing a central ridge (the point of the pentagonal profile) is slightly more smooth than the other surfaces.

Incomplete whetstone of probable Early Medieval or Medieval date (c.800 – 1400). The whetstone is formed from a very fine sedimentary mica rich sandstone or siltstone and bedding planes are clearly visible in the profile. The whetstone is broadly sub-rectangular in plane with tapering sides and faces. It is sub-rectangular in cross section. The edges are slightly bevelled. Copper alloy trade weight. Probably 15th to 16th century. A small, circular, uniface weight. There are two concentric incised lines at the edge. The obverse is stamped with a crown at one edge and a lis opposite at the other edge. These stamps are over the incised bands. They are a sword, upper case A, ewer (coffeepot), and a crowned letter C for Charles I or II. The base of the weight has a casting mark and several concentric ridges.

A lead weight, probably a steelyard weight. The weight is an elongated pyramid with a truncated apex. There is pierced hole running from the apex to the base where it emerges slightly off- centre. The base ia sub- angular and slightly dished around a collar encircling the hole. The dishing suggests this was cast in an open mould, point downwards. THe collar indicates that the lead was still fairly soft when the hole was made. The weight is equivalent to approximately 2.5 ounces.
