A copper alloy English jetton. Probably issued under Edward II (1307 - 1327). Berry type 5 obverse depicting a lion passant facing left with four fleurs de lys around and a wavy line below the feet. Around this is an outer border of sexfoil rosettes alternating with small pellets. Below the line is a row of trefoils formed from pellets. An incomplete copper-alloy medieval jetton, dating to the period AD 1100-1500. Obverse depicting a quartered shield. Reverse depicting a triple stranded cross fleuretty within a tressure of four arches and O in each external angle. It has a diameter of 26.56mm, is 0.48mm thick and weighs 1.07g. Though there are differences in the shield on the obverse, the jetton is broadly similar to three entries on the database: BERK-D41010, DUR-C7D295, IOW-8777F1.
