An incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester derivative bow brooch. The pin and spring are missing as is one the end-caps for the wings. A single integral pierced end cap remains on one of the wings. This would have housed the missing axis bar for the spring pin mechanism. The wings are semi-cylindrical to house the missing spring. The bow projects downwards from the centre of the wings and tapers to a bent, pointed foot and is oval in cross section. An almost complete enamelled disc brooch. The pin is broken. The plate of the brooch is circular and flat. It is decorated with two fields of enamel. The outer field is framed by a metal reserve around the circumference of the disc and is bounded on the inside by another reserve in the form of a five pointed star with a pellet end to each point and incurved edges.
