Copper alloy Hod class A brooch. Head, bow and foot remaining. Rectangular plate at head decorated with latitudinal grooves ant holes pierced at either side (this id possibly a later alteration). Long bow with central longitudinal rib decorated with hammered dots. Incised longitudinal grove along each side of the bow. In the fluted panels formed by these and the central rib is a foliate dot line and dot decoration. Bow tapers sharply. Narrow panel to foot is fluted. Remains of catchplate with two circular piercings.

Possible buckle plate or strap fitting. Sub - rectangular tapering shape. At the wider end there are angled projections. These slope in to the middle where there is a groove possibly for a buckle pin to rest in. Also at this end are three rivet holes (one beneath groove) the two outer of which still retain their copper alloy rivets. The surface is decorated with curvilinear panels of wavy lines.

Copper alloy horse harness pendant suspension mount. Sub-oval domed suspension plate with large side lobes for attachment. Two top lobes remain but traces of two smaller ones at the sides of the lower part are still visible. At the base is a notch housing a hinge point. The hinged bar is secured in place by folding over of the strips of metal each side of the notch. From this is suspended the remnant of the pendant (top loop only). The mount is decorated around its edge with seven clusters of stamped rings.

Late early-medieval copper alloy strap junction. Two lozenge shaped couplings with oval hole for strap to pass through - one at each end of a bar which has a central raised knob. Knops at each of the corners of the couplings. Very similar to broken example in B. Read "History Beneath Our Feet".

Copper alloy trumpet brooch. British type. Swivelling wire chain loop with remnants of spring housed in recess behind trumpet head. Plain trumpet head tapering in to stylised acanthus knob on bow. Bow continues to a disc shaped foot knob which has a small circular recess on its underside. Incised line decoration around edge of foot knob and above and below centre knob.

Copper alloy strip brooch with characteristics of Colchester type but with separate pin (Colchester B). Remnants or chord at top fixed in place by tab bent forward onto head. One short strip wing remains. Flattened bow with four longitudinal grooves. Two either side of a central rib decorated with a rope pattern. Bow tapers gently to a pointed foot. Large catch plate at the back.

Copper alloy Polden Hill brooch. Semi-cylindrical wings housing spring mechanism. Chord held in place by a rectangular pierced lug at the head of the brooch. Axis bar for the spring passes through a lower piercing in the lug. The head and tapering bow are decorated with a raised triangular central rib from which the lug protrudes. The rid has a central groove with a band of lateral incised lines either side. The rib extends to about half the length of bow which tapers sharply to a foot knob.
