A complete post-medieval silver gilded finger-ring, dating to the period AD 1500-1550. It measures 23.21mm in diameter, 7.12mm in thickness and weighs 6.66g. The decoration is framed by two ridged rims, one either side, which run the entirety of the finger-ring. In between are triangular sections of raised dots, approximately 21 in each section. An incomplete Anglo-Saxon copper-alloy strap-end, dating to the period AD 750-900. It is a Class B, Type 2 Trewhiddle style strap-end. The strap-end is constructed of a single sheet folded lengthways. The strap-end is long and thin and tapers to a point, at this pointed end there are the remains of corrosion on both faces of the strap-end. It is decorated with a pair of incised lines on the face. An incomplete cast copper alloy Iron Age brooch of La Tene I type dating to 4th - 3rd c BC. It is missing some of the pin but is otherwise complete. The head, which is a a simple cylindrical piece at right angles to the bow has six coils wrapped around it. On one side, two coils are extensions of the bow and thus hold the bow to the head. A fragment of a cast copper alloy bracelet or small armlet dating to the Roman period. It is 28.80mm in length, 6.25mm in width but tapering to 5.70mm. It is D shape in section and 3.16mm thick but 2.09mm at the narrower end which may be one side of a lap joint, broken apart at an early dates. The other end is more clearly a break. The surface of the bracelet is decorated with diagonal grooves. Crummy 1983 suggests that this grooving was probably meant to imitate in solid form the appearance of cable armlets (p41 ref fig44 no1693). The fragment has a pale green patina and weighs…

A complete medieval cast copper alloy annular brooch dating to cAD 1250 - 1350. It is 18.91mm in diameter with an internal diameter of 11.90mm. it is rectangular in section and 1.41mm thick. There is a recessed section for the pin, which is a flat piece of metal folded over the pin bar, tapering at its far end to a sharp point. There is also a notch in the recessed strap bar for the attachment of the pin. See Whitehead 2003 p20 no71 for similar. An incomplete Roman cast copper alloy oval plate brooch of Hattatt's 'Centre-boss' type. The brooch is gilded, the centre piece is missing, as is the the pin. It is 26.40mm in length, 20.46mm in width. The gilding is still in place, the main plate decorated with a backward 'S' pattern. This plate is 2.35mm thick, the whole brooch, including the raised surround for the gemstone, is 3.91mm thick. The suspension mount consists of a long bar, c.8.78mm wide and c 52.36mm in length, with end bosses, and a pair of pierced loops projecting from the centre to one side only (19.70mm wide here). A complete cast copper alloy medieval buckle with integral forked spacer onto which separate front and back plates have been soldered and helf in place with a single rivet. The buckle hoop is circular, D shape in section, with a lip on the outer edge to take the point of the pin. The pin is in place, being a piece of circular section wire, wrapped around the narrowed pin bar. There is a rivet in place at the attachment end of the plates. The item is 39.51mm in length, 14.57mm in width (the diameter of the buckle hoop) and weighs 3.69g.
