Probable component, possibly from weaponry. A cast copper alloy angular bar with two attachment holes and several rebates. Several faces are decorated with engraved patterns of zig-zag bands and hatching. What appears to be the main face along a narrow edge, is decorated with a blackletter inscription (of unknown meaning) with hatching between the letters. (The inscription probably reads E preue--:) The function of this object is uncertain, but it is well made and decorated suggesting it is from an item of some value and importance.
