1 sherd of coarseware. The fabric is reduced pale grey with an oxidised red surfaces and tempered with fine sand. There are possible traces degraded glaze on the external surface. The sherd is probably a fragment of spout from a cistern or other spouted vessel. A fragment of outer edge remains. On the exterior the sherd expands into a slight projection with a slashed groove in it - this is probably the attachment point of the spout to the vessel wall. Some abrasion.

A pottery rim sherd of probable medieval date. The fabric has well sorted quartz/sand inclusions, with no evidence of glazing. The construction of this vessel is wheel thrown, with a slight groove to the rim, possibly to accept a lid. The rim flares outwards, which suggests a storage jar shape. There is no evidence of reduction within the fabric,so an oxidized firing is likely. The fabric has a buff colour throughout. Dimensions are: Width 39.9 mm Height 21.9 mm Thickness at rim 8.5 mm Thickness at base of rim 4.5 mm. Weight 9.047 grams.

A Rim sherd from a domestic vessel. The rim is flat topped and is sub-rectangular in plan, with the wall of the vessel curving inwards. The lead glaze has a mottled black/brown colour with a good gloss which suggests an oxidized firing. The fabric is tempered with sand which is finely sorted, with only slight reduction to the core of the fabric. The rim has been compressed during the throwing process and has a low porosity which suggests a near vitrification point has been reached. Possibly from Verwood. Late 17th to mid 18th century.

A earthenware rim sherd of a probable platter of 17th to early 18th century date and possibly a Verwood piece. The Fabric is buff in colour and has been tempered with fine sand/quartz. The rim is sub triangular with the top angled outwards. The base has an offset foot ring of which there is a potter's finger impression. The olive green lead glaze has been enriched with iron and possibly manganese staining which has run towards the rim. This indicates a rim-to-rim stacking within the kiln. Dimensions are; Length 57.5 mm Height 34.1mm. Thickness 15.9 mm. Weight 30 grams.

An abraded rim sherd of unglazed earthenware dish, probably dating from the Medieval period. The fabric has a pink exterior with a buff core, of which there appears to be no reduction. Only a fragment of the base survives and this appears flat, with no foot detail. The height is 22.5 mm Width 34.5 mm. Thickness 11.1 mm. Weight 11 grams.
