The object is a vessel lid. It is sub circular in plan, with a sub-semi circular platform protruding from one edge. There are at least 5 very small angular protrusions which are probably decorative. The upper surface is slightly convex, the under surface is concave. Only the upper surface is decorated. The decoration is in the form of ‘ring and dots’ forming a border around the edge, and an inner circle which has trefoils of ‘ring and dot’ designs in the centre. Part of a leg from a cast copper alloy tripod cooking vessel of medieval or post-medieval date. The leg would be from a cauldron or similar vessel. The upper part has a D-shaped cross-section. The back is flat and undecorated. The foot projects forwards and widens out from the upper part. It is damaged at one corner but is broadly paw-shaped having a central rib and and a rounded corner. Dimensions: 34.10 mm x 19.07 mm x 4.61 mm Weight: 5.47 g

Cast copper alloy vessel leg. An angular, ridged leg from a cauldron or large skillet. THe shaft of the leg is D shaped with the curve on the back and a central raised ridge on the front face.The foot is triangular in profile and projects forward fron the leg. The central ridge continues on to the foot. The base of the foot is uneven. There is a break at the top of the leg. The object is poorly cast with a number of voids visible at the breaks. A fragment of cast copper alloy jug handle. A curvilinear/leaf-shaped lower terminal escutcheon with relief decoration of two human feet. There are traces of solder at the back where the escutcheon would have attached to the body of the jug and the surface is keyed by diagonal scoring to improve adherance. A leg from a cast copper alloy cooking vessel such as a cauldron or skillet, of medieval or post-medieval date. The leg measures 46.1mm by 22.1mm by 11.5mm and weighs 52g. The cross-section is D-shaped, with a flat undecorated back and a curving front. The D-shaped base is slightly rounded and at a near right-angle to the rest of the leg. From the base the leg narrows gradually but widens again briefly after about 20mm. A cast copper alloy leg from a medieval or post-medieval metal cooking vessel, probably a post-medieval skillet judging by its dimensions and hoof-like form. The leg measures 53.11mm in length, 31.06mm in width and 18.10mm in thickness. It weighs 111.47g. The cross-section is D-shaped. From the base the leg narrows gradually to the point of the break, although in the centre of the surviving fragment the leg thickens briefly. There are also three slight vertical ridges which are equally spaced over the curving front. This leg would have been one of three on the complete vessel.
