A copper alloy jug, with one handle. One of three containers for the Dorchester hoard found in 1936 (IARCH-5E5FEF). It was recorded as having a height of 1 foot 3/4 inches and a diameter at the top of 4 3/4 in. and at the base 4 in. Its maximum diameter was 7 inches. The handle was decorated with a vine branch and attached to the rim by two duck's beaks and to the body by a Silenus mask. Elements of the decoration were picked out in silver inlay.
