Part of a silver toothpick\earscoop of 16th to 17th century date. Both the ends are missing. The remnant of the pick is in the shape of a talon emerging from the bird' toe. The toe is etched with lines to imitate skin. The other end of this element enters a plant bud comprising two leaves with etched line detail. Behind this are two moulded ridges forming a collar from which projects the oval sectioned shaft of the earscoop. Midway along the object is a circular suspension loop.
