A copper alloy sword pommel in the form of an animals head (dog or lion). The pommel is hollow, sub-spherical with a flattened top. There is a large circular aperture at the base and a smaller, circular aperture on the flat top. There is also a small circular hole under the animal's chin. A fragment of a Middle to Late Bronze Age copper-alloy sword dating 1600-800 BC. It consists of a fragment of the blade. It is sub-rectangular in plan and lenticular in cross section. The edges are rounded and slightly jagged. An incomplete copper alloy sword pommel. A "Brazil nut" type. The pommel is hollow and possibly in-filled with iron. The pommel is sub-triangular, convex at the base and with a rounded apex. In cross section it is a pointed oval, wider at the base and tapering to the apex. At the centre od the base is a sub-angular aperture and opposite it at the apex is a smaller, circular aperture. An incomplete copper-alloy sword pommel cap of the 'cocked hat' type. The pommel cap is an elongate, rectangular based pyramidal form.The underside is deeply hollow. At one short side is the remnant of an integral attachment lug with a ridge behind it along the edge, the opposite side imore damaged, but retains traces of a ridge along the edge. An incomplete copper alloy cross-guard (quillon) from a sword or possibly a dagger. The object is probably one side of the original guard, it is longitudinal and curved with an expanding rounded terminal creating a downward curving guard. At the opposing end is a crude break, the cross section is C-shaped, at the mid-point it has a sub-angular section, at the tip is has an oval section. It is flat on top with a groove part way along the underside (extending from the break) and tapers slightly to the rounded terminal. The aperture tapers upwards and would have held the tapering tang of a sword. In cross section the pommel is hexagonal. The alloy is quite light weight and the surface is a dull grey in places, suggesting the prescence of tin. Three pieces of a cast copper alloy sword. A Ewart Park type.The pieces comprise two blade sections and a part of the hilt (the incomplete handle plate and shoulders). A worn and corroded fragment of the blade from a cast copper alloy sword or rapier, probably of late Bronze Age date. The fragment is 44.9mm long, 26.9mm wide, 5.9mm thick at the widest point and weighs 32.3g. The fragment has a patchy mid to dark green patina, although much of the surface and edges is damaged.
