Post-medieval baluster seal spoon end. A cast copper alloy spoon top with baluster decoration and a remnant of the stem. The distal end is flat-topped and sub-circular in shape (the seal element of the term). Below this it constricts to a concentric rib with five rectangular indentations below. The spoon ton then widens out again into a rounded knop with fine, vertical, cut indentations (slightly off-set to the wider ones above). A fragment of a cast copper alloy spoon stem or vessel handle. A short section of the stem or handle only remains. It is slightly tapering and has a flattened D-section. There are breaks at both ends. The flat, front face is decorated with incised lines two sets of two transverse lines flanking a saltire cross and a small nothch at the edge of the object in the side quarters of the cross. A fragment of a lead alloy or pewter trifid spoon. The trifid end only survives. The central lobe projects to an angled point at the end. The side lobes are more obtusely angled and are shorter then the central lobe/ Both faces are decorated. On one side in the centre is a deeply moulded stylised rayed sun with a human face. On the other side the central lobe has less deeply cast decoration comprising a crown in the central lobe, a winged figure facing inwards in each of the side lobes and at the centre is a profile bust facing left, bearded and with waved hair. The bowl is circular, on the reverse the handle runs along the diameter of the spoon creating a strengthening attachment. The handle is incomplete and is square in cross section. An incomplete copper alloy spoon. A fig-shaped spoon bowl wit a fleur de lys mark on the inside below the point where the missing handle would have been attached. There are traces of silvering or tinning on the surface of the spoon. The mark is associated with slip top, seal top and trifid top latten spoons (Ronald F Homer, 1975 Five Centuries of Base Metal Spoons, p 54 - 55) of the mid 16th to mid 17th centuries. Silver Post-Medieval slip top spoon. The bowl is fig shaped, culminating in a thin stem with a wedge-shaped terminal. On the front of the bowl, just above the stem, is stamped a crowned leopard's head indicating that the spoon was manufactured in London. On the reverse of the bowl, at the base just above the stem, is the owner's mark; the letters G (with a star on either side) with F E below, made from a series of pecked dots. Fragment of a silver-gilt spoon top with acorn terminal. The stem has an hexagonal cross section and the terminal is an expanded stylised acorn. The end of the acorn is rounded and the cup is decorated with incised diagonal cross hatching. There are traces of gilding on the acorn terminal. The remainder of the stem and the bowl are missing.

A slightly corroded bowl from a probable Roman cast copper-alloy spoon (6.2mm deep). The bowl is pear shaped in form, making it a Type 2 spoon in Crummy's (1983, 69) classification. It is plain with some abrasions to the rim and some accretions and losses of patina as a result of corrosion. At the narrow end are the vestiges of the junction with the handle, triangular in cross-section. The artefact has a variable grey-green patina with the corrosion product coming through light green. The bowl can be compared with one illustrated in Crummy (1983, 70; ref.: 2012).

A small cast copper alloy spoon dating to the first or second century AD. The round spoon bowl measures around 21mm in diameter, although the edge is damaged in several places. The stem has a circular cross section with a diameter of around 2mm. It has been bent back around towards the bowl and survives to a length of about 50mm. The end is broken. This sppon can be classified as a Crummy Type 1 (Crummy 1983, 69).

An incomplete cast copper alloy spoon of Roman date. The fragment comprises the pear-shaped bowl and the offset start of the handle. It measures 47.11mm by 25.51mm by 11.38mm and weighs 11.2g. The stem has broken off at the point of the offset, which has an additional forward projection from the handle. There are traces of tinning on the front and back of the bowl.

A post-medieval copper alloy spoon bowl and part of the handle. The bowl is teardrop in shape, tapering towards the handle. The bowl measures 59.97mm long and is up to 44.19mm wide at the broadest end. The depth of the bowl from the join of the handle is 22.86mm. The bowl is complete, although rusted around the edges, and retains vestiges of silvering or tinning on both surfaces. The handle has a flattened oval cross section measuring 1.91mm thick and 4.11mm wide at the break (which is rusted). The surviving length of handle measures 22.24mm.

A copper alloy bowl from a post-medieval spoon with handle missing. The bowl is roughly cut into an approximately oval shape and has no evidence for surface treatment. The handle end is distinguished by a rivet hole by which the handle would have been attached. The bowl has been partially flattened resulting in a crack in one side and further dents around the rim. It measures 62.32mm long and has a maximum width of 43.87mm.

Two conjoining parts of a copper alloy spoon bowl with the handle missing. The bowl is approximately oval in shape, slightly tapered at the handle end where there is a maker's mark on the upper surface in the form of a punched Fleur de Lys. There is no evidence of any other surface treatment. The individual fragments measure 34.12mm x 43.91mm and 28.71mm x 43.37mm. The total size of the bowl when the pieces are joined is 57.77mm long and 43.91mm wide.
