A fragment of a copper-alloy spoon handle. The terminal only of a spoon stem is present and dates to the late Post Medieval period c. 1670 - 1720. It is flat and rectangular in section with a widened three-lobed trefid terminal. The object has a green/brown patina. A fragment of a cast copper alloy seal top spoon. The top is a flat disc, below which the handle is narrowed and than expands into a baluster form comprising (with constrictions between) an upper, globular knop with vertical groove decoration, a narrow collar,  a narrowed tapering knop and a collar. The handle then continues with an oval cross section to the break point, narrowed from the decorative section. A copper alloy trifid spoon handle terminal, probably dating to c. AD 1650-1720. The spoon handle is slightly bent and plain, terminating in a worn break at one end and flaring outwards into a tri-lobed trifid terminal at the other. Reference: Egan (2005: 118, no. 578) publishes an unstratified trifid spoon featuring counterfeit hallmarks dating the spoon to the mid-17th century at the earliest. A copper alloy spoon fragment. The trefid end of the handle only. The shaft of the handle is flat and rectangular in cross section, with slightly rounded short sides. The end of the handle flares out and terminates in a trefid end comprising a larger central lobe with a squared end, flanked by two smaller, more rounded lobes. It is undecorated. There is a large lump of iron corrosion adhering to one face. There are traces of a black coating on all surfaces. A fragment of a copper alloy (latten) seal top spoon. The fragment comprises the spoon knop only. The terminus is a flat oval disc which tapers down to two adjacent collars, the second being slightly narrower than the first. From the second collar, the knop then tapers gradually before expanding to a baluster which narrows before meeting another collar before the break . An incomplete copper-alloy spoon with white metal coating. Only the bowl of the spoon remains. It is a "mandolin-shaped" - rounded at the base and tapering into a long neck. At the top of the neck is a transverse ridge. At the rear of the neck is a tapering mid-rib which originally extended into an off-set hook attaching the bowl to the missing stem. It is rectangular in cross section and widens and thickens towards the hook where the bowl was attached. The stem only of an off-set spoon. The stem varies in cross section along its length from oval at the terminal to sub-angular at the point where the missing bowl would have begun. The looped terminal is slightly expanded and is decorated with two sets of two ridges at top and bottom. The loop is rounded with a large circular aperture and is narrowed from the stem. The stem has a hexagonal cross-section with a chamfered terminal. A post medieval copper-alloy latten spoon knop dating to the period c. AD 1500 - 1700. The knop is of the seal top type with a flat top c.14.0mm in diameter. Below the top is a constriction, below whch the spoon widens into a conical collar which tapers into a narrow collar. Below this, the spoon tapers further before expanding into a collar and termionates in an old break. Similar examples are illustrated by Homer (1975:38) who categorises them as Seal Top types B , fluted or scrolled baluster seals, depending on their decoration. He dates both types to the 16th century.

An incomplete copper-alloy spoon, dating from the Roman period. The stem is of rectangular section, tapering towards a pointed distal end and having an upward bend just over halfway along. A short distance from the bowl end, the sides of the stem bulge outwards; at this point the two upper corners have been 'toothed' by a number of transverse incisions. A 'U-shaped' downward step joins the stem to the remaining fragment of the bowl. The surfaces of the spoon have been tinned or silvered. Dimensions: length: 102.2mm; width: 4mm; height at step: 11.2mm. Weight: 8.28g.
