An incomplete copper alloy pedestal type seal matrix dating to c.1300 - 1400, showing the head of St John the Baptist on a platter. The matrix face is slightly oval. The pedestal is faceted with six facets, thins as it rises to a collar topped by a partially missing terminal. The design in the centre of the matrix is of the head of St John the Baptist in a bowl with a six point star and a crescent moon above the head. The design is within a pellet border. An in complete copper alloy seal matrix. A pedestal type with the handle incomplete. The handle is hexagonally faceted and tapering with a collar before the break. The broken end retains the stubs of a pierced suspension loop. The handle flares at the opposite end into the faceted rear of the oval die. A handled copper alloy seal matrix of late medieval date c 1300-1500. The handle has a trefoil pierced loop at the top enclosing a sub-circular hole. Below this the cross section of the handle is hexagonal. It flares towards the circular die. The die is incised with a crowned letter I flanked by plants and sprays of branches. These are all contained within an incised frame. The seal matrix is 25.80mm in length and the handle is 9.17mm in thickness. The die is 17.67mm in diameter and the seal matrix weighs 8.75g. Large medieval copper alloy seal matrix which has been damaged, probably deliberately to deface it, The seal is circular with a flat back and an irregular hole through the centre. This hole appears to have removed the deepest part of the central design possibly by slicing or breaking the handle off the back, taking the centre with it. A copper alloy double sided seal matrix die from a swivelling or rotary fob seal. It is oval with a perforation on each end for attachment to a swivel pendant. The plate is engraved on one side with a bearded male profile bust facing right. The other side bears the reversed initials JR in elaborately scrolled lettering. An incomplete and corroded seal matrix from the Medieval period. The matrix has a circular die, at the centre of which is an engraved image, surrounded by a legend. The nature of both the image and legend are unclear. The die tapers upwards at the back, and the handle is missing. The piece is 8.32 mm high; has a diameter of 17.47 mm and weighs 4.507 grams. The size and general appearance of this matrix suggest a later medieval date.

A medieval cast copper alloy pedestal type seal matrix with a circular face. The matrix has been heavily worn and abraded but shows no signs of an inner circle or inscription. The central pedestal type handle appears to be faceted, although most have been worn away. The handle narrows as it rises to a waist where there appears to have been a double ridged collar from which it expands out slightly before ending in a flat, transverse, sub-circular loop at the top. The seal matrix is 20.46mm in maximum diameter at the face and stands 26.11mm tall; it weighs 9.99 grams.

A complete cast copper alloy seal matrix.The seal matrix has a circular die and a tapering handle which is oval in cross-section. The handle terminates with a rounded suspension loop which has a circular perforation. Between the upper part of the handle and the suspension loop is a horizontal groove. At the centre of the cut die is a device of two birds, one on the back of the other. Around it is the inscription which reads ALAS IE SV P[--]S. The last word probably originally read P[RI]S.
