Cast copper alloy Roman seal box lid, lozenge-shaped in plan with cross-hatching of twenty-five lozenge-shaped cells for enamel. Some light blue-green enamel survives in a few of the cells. The four corners of the lozenge shape have knops projecting from them which are now worn. These knops would have originally fitted into notches in the base half of the seal box. The sides of this lid survive, and are at right angles to the lid. A copper alloy Roman round seal box base of Crummy's Type 2 dating to the period c. AD 100 - 300. The base is circular in shape with a lip. It features a circular lug with a circular perforation set at a ninety degree angle to the lid, which would have acted as the hinge for attachment. The base exhibits four circular perforations set in a Y-shaped formation. There is a crack running from the edge of the lid to one of the perforations and the lid is bent out of shape on this side. A copper alloy and enamel seal box lid. An incomplete lozengiform lid decorated with blue and red enamel inlay. At the edge is a reserve of metal framing the lid. Inside this is a band of dark blue enamel bordered by a further framing reserve of metal. Inside this is a field of red enamel with two reserved metal pellets flanking a central roundel. The roundel is also framed by a reserve of metal. It is filled with dark blue enamel and has a reserved metal pellet at the centre.
