A folded fragment of gold strip or ribbon, dating to the Bronze Age c. 2350-800 BC. The ribbon is rectangular in plan and made from a beaten sheet of gold. It has been folded or bent out of shape in several locations. One surface of the ribbon is decorated with thirteen regular, longitudinal, incised grooves, creating ridges. The exterior longitudinal edges are slightly thicker than the internal ridges, creating a border to the band. Both terminals appear to have been cut leaving a straight edge. A small fragment of gold strip tapering to a tongue-shaped terminal, where it has been pierced, slightly off-centre. The piercing has been carried out from the slightly less dull side. The piece is very weathered, and there is some cracking across the width where it seems to have been folded. Surviving length 38.5mm; maximum surviving width 10.5mm; thickness less than 0.5mm; weight 1.63 grams.
