A lead alloy powder flask cap. A cap for a powder holder. Open at one end and closed at the other. The cap is oval at the flat, closed end and squashed and misshapen and the open end. There are two loops at the closed end, one either side.

A complete and misshapen cast lead cap for a powder measure. Originally, the open end would have been circular or perhaps oval in plan. The open end has a plain rim. The closed end of the cap is thicker than the sides and has a slightly raised rim around the top edge edge. Along one side is a raised casting seam with a slight projection, probably from a loop, now missing. The loop enabled the cap to be attached separately to the bandolier (belt) of the wearer so that they could be removed without being lost. A complete and misshapen cast lead cap for a powder measure. The open end of the cap is distorted and has a low external bead at the rim. The closed end of the cap is oval. It is thicker than the sides and has a slightly chamfered edge. Projecting from the edge at the closed end are two integral loops set opposite each other.
