An incomplete lead medieval pilgrim's badge of St Anne, dating to c.1400-1500. Probably from her shrine at Buxton, Derbyshire, but relics of St Anne were also claimed by Canterbury, Reading and Durham, and so it may alternatively have been produced at one of these places. The badge depicts St Anne teaching her daughter, the Virgin Mary, to read. St Anne and the Virgin Mary are both depicted wearing long dresses or robes. St Anne is wearing a veil or headdress. A flat circular lead pilgrim badge of medieval or early post-medieval date. The badge, which depicts the Annunciation, has a maximum diameter of 22.98mm, it is 1.75mm thick and weighs 3.79g. On the back there is a vertical casting line and two protruding lumps which may be the remains of the fixture for the (missing) pin. The front depicts two standing figures in moulded relief, the Angel Gabriel to the left and the Virgin Mary to the right. A cast lead pilgrim badge of medieval date. The badge measures 49.11mm in length, 25.15mm in width, its maximum thickness is 4.45mm and it weighs 6.12g. The front of the badge is moulded to represent the bust of St Thomas Becket, indicating that this was a product of his shrine at Canterbury, Kent. The archbishop wears a mitre which has a raised central vertical panel on which there is an off-centre line of raised dots. The rest of the mitre is filled with cross hatching.
