Half of a pebble mace. Made from an orangey-grey quartzite pebble. It was originally sub-oval in shape. The perforation has an hour-glass profile indicating that it was made using a solid bit, drilling halfway from each side. Date: These are often dated to the Mesolithic, but may well also be later in date (Neolithic). Dimensions: 58 mm x 65 mm x 29 mm. Hole diameter: 20 mm at top, 14 mm at centre. Weight: 140 g
