A copper alloy pendant, probably for horse harness. An arched plate of copper alloy with a loop at the top and gilding on the front. The suspension loop is set at a right-angle to the plate and has a low, circular hole through it. Below the loop is a rectangular "keystone" panel above a stylised human figure comprising a stylised face which extends into V-shaped legs. The upper, shorter arm terminates in a broken circular suspension loop. The pendant is sub-triangular in form and consists of a gold frame which encloses a slightly bi-convex piece of rock crystal. The frame is constructed from gold sheet, with rectangular strips along each upper edge and sub-triangular sheets on front and back with an aperture cut to house the rock crystal. The base was left open, presumably for insertion of the rock crystal, and was then sealed with a separate strip of sheet gold with the other sides of the frame folded over it to hold it in place. An incomplete silver gilt devotional pendant. The pendant is composite construction and , as a result of damage, the looped frame and one separately attached decorated plate remain. The frame is circular with a separately applied circular, round wire loop applied at the top at right angles to the flat of the frame. A probable copper alloy pendant of possible Roman date. A broadly conical object. At the top is a large, arched loop joined to a discoidal plate or skirt. Projecting from the underside is tapering circular cross sectioned shaft decorated with a series of moulded girth ridges. An incomplete possible copper alloy pendant. One face is decorated with low recesses of concentric circles and metal reserves in three groups, the central recess of each is deeper than the outer ones. The reverse is undecorated and there is a break at the base. There is some edge damage and a slight sprue around the edges. Similar to BERK-C2648C. Date: Roman Length: 22.18 mm. Width: 23.74 mm. S Silver and rock crystal pendant. An oval cabochon of clear, slightly off-white rock crystal in a silver frame with a loop at the top. The frame runs around the edges of the flat side of the stone. Running across the front of the stone are two silver bands attached to into hinges on either side of the frame and secured with silver pins through the hinges. A complete silver pendant cross. The pendant is cruciform with a flat roundel at its centre from which three rectangular sectioned arms terminating in globular knops. The fourth arm from the top of the pendant forms an integral oval suspension loop with wide circular perforation. A oval silver hollow framed pendant set with a green intaglio with what appears to be a figure of Mercury. The loop is circular with a rat tail finish set vertically down the back of the pendant. A Medieval pendant set with an intaglio of green stone. The mount frames the stone leaving the reverse exposed. On the front are inscribed the words "+: A: +: G: +: L: +: A:" "AGLA" was a popular amuletic charm in the Middle Ages. It signifies "ATHE GEBIR LEILAN ADONI" "(Thou Art Mighty For Ever, Oh Lord"). The charm was invoked to prevent fever. The reverse of the mount has scalloped edging. The stone is exposed deliberately to provide contact between it and the skin of the wearer.
