A copper alloy badge or mount. An irregular octagonal badge with two integral rivets at the back. On the front is cast decoration of a cross with a long vetical arm and a shorter horizontal arm. This is similar to the cross of St George which was a popular emblem during the English Civil war and ever since. In style this object appears to be early post-medieval in date, but it is not possible to date it more closely to the Civil War or Commonwealth periods with any certainty. Dimensions: 32.12 mm x 20.54 mm x 5.82 mm Weight: 3.77 g Date: Post-medieval - c 17th century
