Medieval square copper alloy mount with a crowned lion passant guardant on the front surrounded by enamel. The mount has broad angled sides decorated with multiple closely spaced incised line and a concave back. On the front are recessed areas filled with bright red enamel. The unrecessed lion and a border stand proud of the enamelled areas. The border is decorated with an incised wavy line running around all four sides. The form of the lion is also drawn out with incised lines with punched annulets forming the beard-like mane and tuft at the end of the tail. The lion is shown walking…
