A complete Post Medieval copper-alloy anthropomorphic knife terminal. A knife stop or end-cap from a scale-tang knife. The figurative three dimensional end-cap is an anthropomorphic head on an oval cross-section plinth. The head is wearing a large pointed hood, suggestive of a cowl or hooded cloak worn by monks.  The long, thin face with pointed chin is looking up at an angle of approximately 45 degrees and has crudely engraved facial features. A medieval copper alloy possible part of a knife bolster with an integral quillon.It has an oval-shaped body with a key-shaped aperture in the top and open at the bottom. An incomplete copper alloy quillon or guard, probably from a small dagger or knife date to the 13-15th century. The object has a flat elongated sub-ovate shape with a curved profile, one side is missing to a break. In the centre, is a small worn rectangular perforation measuring 5.37mm in length and 2.60mm in width. As complete, the perforation would have served as the slot through which the blade would have slotted into the grip. An incomplete copper alloy probable tanged knife. The top of the rectangular tang has a transverse break with the remnant of a single, circular attachment hole in the centre. The tang has a rectangular cross section. Below the tang, the blade narrows and thickens slightly and the sides curve inwards before flaring out again to a wide, tongue-shaped terminal. A copper alloy knife terminal. A knife stop or end-cap. A rectangular block with a one rounded end. At the rounded end is a rounded ridge across running across the thickness of the piece. At the squared end is a widthways groove where the tang of the missing blade was set. Along both of the long edges are deep rectangular slots, two on each side, offset from each other. There are also two transverse grooves on each face, decorated with a row of moulded pellets in the base of the recess. A probable flint knife or possibly a leaf-shaped arrowhead blank. A bifacialy worked flake tool made on a tertiary flake of mottled pale grey and off-white flint with a low-gloss patina. Thje flake is slightly curved and retains flake scar ridges on the dorsal face and the remnant of the bulb of percussion on the ventral face. It has been modified with semi-invasive, regular, sharpening retouch on three margins and around the two ends. One margin on one face retains the original flake edge. A Post-Medieval copper alloy knife cap, with section of iron tang, probably dating to c. AD 1500-1700. The terminal has an oval cross section a the base, with a rectangular slot to accomodate the iron tang of the knife. The terminal is moulded into a three dimensional depiction of a hand, clenched into a fist, protruding from a cuff. Length 19.3mm; Width 12.0mm; Thickness 9.8mm; weight 9.79g. cf. LEIC-C31877 and examples illustrated by Read (2001: 88).

A post-medieval copper alloy knife cap or stop. The stop is possibly moulded into a zoomorphic animal head, which has a tapered snout with probable brow ridge behind and a rounded rear. There are two deep recesses on both faces, largely infilled with a black material. Below the head, the body of the stop tapers into a neck before flaring out again into an irregular hexangonal sectioned base. Part of a complete copper alloy knife handle and the iron knife tang of post-medieval date, circa AD 1756 - 1763.The handle is comprised of two sub-rectangular strips of metal each broken at one end, one currently longer than the other. The missing end would have been the terminal of the handle, the remaining end would have been where the handle met the blade.
