A copper alloy hooked tag of Read's (2008) Class E, Type 3, with an openwork plate depicting an equal armed cross flueretty defined by drilled holes between each fleur, the whole being surrounded by a circular rim and engrailed edge. On opposite sides of the plate are a sub rectangular attachment loop and a sharp pointed hook.  Reference: Read, B, 2008, Hooked Clasps and Eyes, pg.99, no.370. An incomplete copper-alloy post-medieval hooked tag (dress fastener) dating to c. AD 1600-1700. The object comprises the lozenge shaped plate of the fastener, with the flattened slender hook protruding from it, although the curved hook itself is missing. The trapezoidal sewing loop is also damaged and largely absent although its shape is visible. A cast copper alloy hooked clasp dress fastener. The head only remains. A trefoil of three domed bosses with a separately applied pin at the centre. The domes are arranged in a triangle and are filled with lead solder. Attached behind two of the domes is a rectangular sectioned angular loop. This example is similar to Brian Read's Class D, Type 6 hooked clasps recorded in Hooked Clasps and Eyes, 2008, page 78, number 260. A silver hooked tag. The hooked tag has a sub-circular plate with two circular perforations towards the upper edge (these are arranged somewhat asymmetrically). There is an integral tapering hook projecting from the centre of the lower edge. The hook is thickened from the plate (projecting at the front and flush with the plate at the rear. A Post Medieval copper-alloy strap fitting for a sword belt, dating to c. AD 1600 - 1650. This example is composed of the plate, which tapers from the top to the hook. Attached to the hook is a copper alloy ring. The ring has only been crudely finished with a fragment of copper alloy attached where it was attached to the adjoining ring during the manufacturing process. The tag consists of an undecorated triangular plate with two indentations at the attachment end creating three sub-trapezoidal lobes, each with a circular perforation. The point of the plate continues into a rearward facing sharp hook. The tag measures 27.9mm in length, 15.3mm at its widest point, 0.9mm thick and weighs 1.31 grams. cf. Read (2008) pages 7-13.

A complete silver hooked tag. It comprises a flat, circular plate with two pierced lugs in the upper edge (one incomplete) and a curved, tapering hook on the lower edge.
