An incomplete copper-alloy post-medieval hooked tag (dress fastener) dating to c. AD 1600-1700.
The object comprises the lozenge shaped plate of the fastener, with the flattened slender hook protruding from it, although the curved hook itself is missing. The trapezoidal sewing loop is also damaged and largely absent although its shape is visible. The lozenge shaped plate has a wavy edge and an inner lozenge shaped panel upon which is a floral design, although this is badly worn.

A copper alloy hooked tag of Read's (2008) Class E, Type 3, with an openwork plate depicting an equal armed cross flueretty defined by drilled holes between each fleur, the whole being surrounded by a circular rim and engrailed edge. On opposite sides of the plate are a sub rectangular attachment loop and a sharp pointed hook.

A cast copper alloy hooked tag of probable late medieval or post medieval date. The hooked tag measures 34mm by 16.1mm by 1.4mm and weighs 1.72g. It has a lozenge-shaped plate with decoration in the form of a wavy edge and a moulded quatrefoil in the centre. At one end is a backwards curving hook, which has been slightly bent out of shape. At the other end is a square loop, for attachment.

A silver hooked tag. The hooked tag has a sub-circular plate with two circular perforations towards the upper edge (these are arranged somewhat asymmetrically). There is an integral tapering hook projecting from the centre of the lower edge. The hook is thickened from the plate (projecting at the front and flush with the plate at the rear. It tapers to a point and is curved rearward.

The sub-triangular plate has three pierced attachment lugs at the broad end (producing a scalloped-effect) and it tapers to a form a hook, rounded in cross section, and broken off at the end.

Description: A silver gilt dress fastener. A hook piece with filigree decorated plate. The plate is cinquefoil with scalloped edges around the foils. On each foil is a dome decorated with two applied filigree wire circles and all are glided. At the centre between the domes is a single domed rivet of gilded silver. The lower dome is hollow and the upper two are filled with lead solder from the attachment of the rectangular sectioned angular loop. A silver gilt dress hook. The upper part is a rectangular plate with a three sided trapeziodal cross sectioned hollow box attached. The side edges of the back-plate are scalloped (five projections to each side) with tone side having been bent upwards. Gilded silver hooked tag of Read’s Class D type 5 (figurative type). The item is a trefoil of hollow-domed bosses with an engrailed edge. The bosses are separately soldered, and each boss is within an annulet. Central is a ten-petalled flower with raised centre. Large granules are located in the interstices on the edge of the plate. On the reverse is a separately soldered cylindrical hook, which tapers to a sharp point. Separate soldered loop on reverse is missing.

An Early Medieval copper alloy hooked tag, probably dating to AD 800-1100. The tag consists of an undecorated triangular plate with two indentations at the attachment end creating three sub-trapezoidal lobes, each with a circular perforation. The point of the plate continues into a rearward facing sharp hook.
The tag measures 27.9mm in length, 15.3mm at its widest point, 0.9mm thick and weighs 1.31 grams.

A complete silver hooked tag. It comprises a flat, circular plate with two pierced lugs in the upper edge (one incomplete) and a curved, tapering hook on the lower edge. Above the hook at the plate narrows into a rectangular collar. The hook curves backwards and tapers to a sharp point.underneath the tag, and is sharp and complete. The upper surface of the plate is incised with a cruciform motif with incurved arms and a central saltire. The angles are in-filled with incised lobed leaf or zoomorphic elements.

A late Saxon hooked tag with trapezoid headplate, scalloped upper edge, three rivet holes and two hooks and very solidly made.
The front is decorated with a vase containing a flower. Some of the curving leaves and flower stems of the plant are decorated with fine dots and incisions. An Early Medieval copper-alloy hooked tag, dating to AD 800 - 1100. An isosceles triangle shaped plate with an integral, drawn, D-sectioned hook at the apex of the triangle, at the base of the tag. The upper edge of the plate is notched in the centre. At the two top corners of the plate are two circular attachment holes. The edges of the plate are slightly rounded. The hook is rearward and tapers to a sharp point. The plate and hook are undecorated.

A Post Medieval copper-alloy strap fitting for a sword belt, dating to c. AD 1600 - 1650. This example is composed of the plate, which tapers from the top to the hook. Attached to the hook is a copper alloy ring. The ring has only been crudely finished with a fragment of copper alloy attached where it was attached to the adjoining ring during the manufacturing process. The upper edge of the plate has a pronounced curved projection at each corner. The plate is slightly plano-convex. There are two iron rivets in the centre of the object which have corroded.
