The sub-triangular plate has three pierced attachment lugs at the broad end (producing a scalloped-effect) and it tapers to a form a hook, rounded in cross section, and broken off at the end. An Early Medieval copper alloy hooked tag, probably dating to AD 800-1100. The tag consists of an undecorated triangular plate with two indentations at the attachment end creating three sub-trapezoidal lobes, each with a circular perforation. The point of the plate continues into a rearward facing sharp hook. The tag measures 27.9mm in length, 15.3mm at its widest point, 0.9mm thick and weighs 1.31 grams. cf. Read (2008) pages 7-13.

A complete silver hooked tag. It comprises a flat, circular plate with two pierced lugs in the upper edge (one incomplete) and a curved, tapering hook on the lower edge. Above the hook at the plate narrows into a rectangular collar. The hook curves backwards and tapers to a sharp point.underneath the tag, and is sharp and complete.
