A medieval copper-alloy harness decoration in the form of an eagle displayed.
The bird, which faces forwards, has well moulded feathers. There is a circular-sectioned rivet located within a hole on the underside of the hollow bird, which would have attached the piece to a harness strap or, possibly, to a rotating pendant holder. For a parallel, see PAS record NMS-81E04E.
It measures 40.70 mm in length, 37.03 mm in width and is 29.79 mm high. It has a weight of 25 grams.

A incomplete cast copper-alloy strap junction for horse harness from the early medieval period, circa 11th century. Only the central cuboid boss, one complete arm and lozenge shaped terminal, and a stub of the other arm survive (the missing arm and terminal section is likely to have been a mirror image of the section shown). Three sides of the boss have a single ring and dot decoration. The boss has a narrow collar on each of the arms. The arms are triangular in section.
