A post medieval cast copper alloy decorative furniture mount or escutcheon dating to 1650-1750. The mount is in the shape of a sexfoil double rose consisting of six outer petals interspersed with pointed knops at the outer edge. The outer petals are formed with ridges to their outer edges and also raised interior decoration. Inside the outer petals ring there is an inner ring of six smaller petals, wth raised crescentic outer edges and inner decoration of three ridges. A cast and hand tooled copper alloy furniture fitting / escutcheon plate of late Post-Medieval date c. AD1625-1750. The plate is probably from a drawer from a chest or similar piece of furniture and is decorative in nature. The find is sub-rectangular in plan. It is decorated with incised circular and semi-circular designs, together with a V shape which has fluted edges along the inner lines of the V. Inside the V shape is minute cross hatching decoration. A sheet metal furniture mount. A keyhole escutcheon, probably from a drawer front or similar. The plate is lozengiform with incurved sides and truncated ends. At each of the truncated ends is an integral pierced rounded lobe for attaching the mount to piece of furniture. At the centre is a keyhole-shaped aperture. The front face of the mount is decorated with stamped circles and crescents in a floral design (the central hole is flanked by two large multi-petalled flowers and there are incomplete ones above and below). A Roman copper alloy furniture fitting, probably dating to c. AD 43-410. The fitting is 'bobin-shaped', circular in cross section, with a central waist and flaring ends. One end of the fitting features a hemispherical depression, whilst the other is encrusted with iron corrosion, with a possible off centre integral copper alloy rivet visible through the iron. Length 13.2mm; diameter 12.0mm; weight 5.20g. cf. Allason-Jones & Miket (1984: 215-216) nos. 3.734-3.736 for objects of broadly similar form, see also NMS-81E4B6 on this database.

An incomplete sheet copper alloy furniture fitting. A probable escutcheon for a drop-handle. The plate was broadly lozenge-shaped originally, but the two points at the side have been broken off. The remaining central part of the plate has a scalloped edges with a pierced rounded projection on the upper edge and a pierced trefoil projection from the lower edge. A copper alloy furniture or box mount of probable Roman date (c. AD 43 - 410). The mount is discoidal in shape with a a flat top -now bent at one side-, and a narrower central portion ( 5.9mm thick ) The reverse exhibits a cylindrical lug measuring 6.0mm in diameter which widens into a circular terminal measuring 12.5mm. The object has a smooth dark green patina. The furniture fitting measures 12.61mm in diameter, is 5.9mm thick and weighs 4.32g.

A possible Roman copper alloy furniture mount, dating to the period c. AD 43-410. The fitting is circular in plan and consists of a dished upper disc 13.94mm in diameter which narrows into the conical shaft which exhibits two incised concentric grooves. It then expands into a collar 7.23mm in diameter. The shaft then narrows to a diameter of 5.93mm before widening into the bevelled lower disc which measures 13.08mm in diameter. The underside of the lower disc exhibits the corroded remains of a rectangular iron rivet. It is very similar in style to items already recorded on the PAS

A copper alloy Roman furniture fitting. Thefitting is roughly globe shaped with three depressions round the sides and one on top which flattens the top. At the base, there is evidence of an iron attachment spike. The patina is mainly dark green with lighter green areas and the metal pin or loop at the bottom is corroded.

An incomplete Post-Medieval/ Early Modern (1650-1800) copper alloy openwork mount probably from furniture, with very worn damage to the edge. It is very flat (perhaps flattened) with a central circular hole (4mm diameter), with traces of iron staining to both front and back around it. The edge is scalloped with four equidistant triangular holes set between the central hole and the edge. Around is stamped decoration in the form of numerous small circles and open half circles. Measures 36.77mm in diameter and 1.6mm thick. Weighs 8.31g.

A curvilinear copper-alloy coat hook or other furniture fitting, with a heron-like bird's head terminal. The attachment end is flared and rectangular with the remnants of an iron spike.Modern, 18th to 19th century. Fragments of such finds have in the past proved hard to identify, and so this example has been included on the database for illustrative purposes. Modern (1700-1900) copper alloy sheet fitting, possibly a handle from furniture or part of a pulley system. The piece is made of two pieces of copper alloy sheet wrapped around an iron core, probably originally an attachment rivet. A strip of sheet is bent around in a ring with an indented centre and flaring edges, giving it a V shaped section; where the ends join iron corrosion has pushed them out and apart.
