Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A crude flint end scraper. Made on a tertiary flake of  patchy grey flint. It has a matt patina. There is a low bulb of percussion and a small striking platform at the proximal end and faint waves of percussion on the ventral face. On the dorsal face are several flake removal scars and angular fractures (probably due to the low quality of the flint). The tip of the distal end has a small area of abrupt, irregular retouch creating a working edge. Date: Bronze Age 2350 - 800 BC Dimensions: 58.5 mm x 41.5 mm x 11.5 mm Weight: 33.5 g

A large flint end scraper. Made using a thick secondary flake from blade production. The flint is pale grey brown to dark grey. The surface is glossy and there is a patch of nodule cortex at the distal end and an area of thick, white patination from earlier fracturing at one margin. At the proximal end the striking platform is broken off. The bulb of percussion is well defined with a small bulbar scar. There are numerous tightly spaced waves of percussion on the ventral face. The dorsal face has several large parallel flaking scars. The distal end has been crudely retouched with semi-…

A large, crude end scraper. Made using a secondary flake of patchy grey-brown flint with beige patches. The surface is glossy and has some areas of milky patination. There is a small striking platform and a low, diffuse bulb of percussion on the ventral face. There are numerous, tightly spaced waves of percussion visible on the ventral face. There are several flaking scars dorsally. The distal end has steeply retouched. The retouch covers approximately 15 % of the margins. Neolithic knapped flint tertiary blade retouched into an end scraper, c.4000-2100 BC. The blade has been struck off a prepared platform with part of the platform on the proximal end and bulb of percussion and percussion ripples visible on the ventral face. On the dorsal face are regular parallel aris left by similar blade removals from the same platform. There is retouch is around the distal end. The retouch is short, semi-parallel and semi-abrupt. There is some chipping down each side. The flint is light orangey brown in colour with darker mottling. It is 55.5mm long, 28.6mm wide and…
