Description: A silver-gilt dress-pin head. The head is spherical and probably hollow and contains the end of the pin shaft. It is decorated with silver wire filigree. A raised band separates the two hemispheres of the pin head, with each decorated with three filigree circles, each containing a central pellet surrounded by three smaller filigree circles. There is a pellet between each larger circle, with a small filigree circle in each spandrel. At the apex of the head is a further pellet within a small circle. A fragment of copper alloy dress pin. The head and part of the shaft remain. The head is an inverted drop-shape with a slightly flattened end. It is decorated with parallel curving ridges and grooves. The shaft of the pin is sharply narrowed from the head. It is decorated with an incised crude spiral line. The rest of the remaining shaft is undecorated and tapers gently to the break. It has a circular cross section. A fragment of copper alloy pin. The head and stub of the shaft only. The head is hollow and formed of two hemispherical sections. The top section has a band of five small domes around its girth with a sixth at the top in the centre. The lower section also has a band of five small domes around its girth with the shaft of the pin projecting from the centre. Many of the domes have corroded through and now have holes through them. A complete silver gilt dress pin. The silver head is hollow and spherical and decorated with silver wire filigree and raised bosses. A thicker flattened strip of silver divides the head into two hemispheres. At the top there is a cylindrical knop which gives the appearance that the shaft goes through the head. The shaft survives to its pointed terminal- it is circular in cross section, tapering to a sharp point. It is bent to just above 90 degrees, probably as part of post depositional damage.
