A complete gilded silver post-medieval hooked dress fastener. It comprises a circular plate with a silver wire hook at the rear. The plate is decorated at the front with twisted silver wire filigree decoration and is gilded. A Post Medieval copper alloy dress fastener, dating to c. AD 1500 - 1650. The convex plate is oval in plan with a hollow reverse, with incised decoration of five foliate leaves. From the base fo the plate there is a flat, rectangular extension which is folded forward to form a hook but which is now broken.
