Cast copper alloy fragment from a crotal bell with the 'sunburst' pattern decorating the remains of the lower part of this spherical-shaped bell. The pattern consists of five tear-shaped rays with a central longitudinal line that fan outwards from the edge of the slit. The slit edge terminates at both ends in a semi-circular aperture, 5 mm in diameter, which would have originally been a circular hole. There is a central raised rib which divides the upper and lower halves of the bell. On the upper half of the bell, there is a circular sound hole, 6 mm in diameter, which has broken open…
