A possible post-medieval silver shilling of Charles I (1625 - 1649). Possibly Group A or B type (North 2216 - 2220). Initial mark unknown. Probably mint of London (Tower). The coin has been clipped to the size of a sixpence. It has an unusual patina which indicates it could be a contemporary copy.
