An incomplete post medieval/modern zinc and copper-alloy tombac (Dandy) button dating from c. 1700-1800. The discoidal button has a flat upper surface, bevelled edge and is slightly concave on the reverse. In the front centre of the button is a five petalled Tudor rose and between each petal is a triangular leaf. In the centre of the rose is five stamen emanating from a small central circle. A copper-alloy button dating to c.1650 - c.1750. The button is circular and D-shaped in cross section. The front face is decorated with a central pellet surrounded by six circumferential circular punches, forming a sexfoil flower. A modern copper-alloy gilded livery button, dating to c.1876 - 1893. The button is circular with a domed front a hollowed back. The front of the button is decorated with a demi lion rampant facing left and holding a dagger. This crest is associated with the Farquharson family of Aberdeen and Invercauld.
