An incomplete post medieval/modern zinc and copper-alloy tombac (Dandy) button dating from c. 1700-1800. The discoidal button has a flat upper surface, bevelled edge and is slightly concave on the reverse. In the front centre of the button is a five petalled Tudor rose and between each petal is a triangular leaf. In the centre of the rose is five stamen emanating from a small central circle. The reverse is undecorated, but retains a shallow central boss, which has broken stubs from the embedded copper alloy attchment loop, nearly all of which is missing.

A copper-alloy button dating to c.1650 - c.1750. The button is circular and D-shaped in cross section. The front face is decorated with a central pellet surrounded by six circumferential circular punches, forming a sexfoil flower. Incised triangles are formed between each circular petal, possibly representing a six pointed star. The design is enclosed within a simple incised circumferential border.The reverse has no decoration and its integral loop is broken. The button has a light brown surface patina.

An incomplete copper alloy button with integral pierced shank. The front of the button is decorated with a pointed central boss with a pointed pellet in the centre. It is surrounded by radiating grooves.The shank is rectangular, with a rounded end and off-centre, broken attachment hole.

An incomplete copper alloy button. A composite, discoidal,two-piece button with a solid convex front and a missing separate shank. There is a slight knop at the centre of the convex front. The rear is flat with a central depression for the attachment of the missing shank.

A complete copper alloy button. The button is circular with a convex front and concave back. The front of the button is decorated with design of incised lines, punched annulets and crescents. A cast, single piece lead or lead alloy button. The button is sub-circular with a slightly domed front and a flat rear with an integral looped shank which has been flattened against the rear face. The domed face is decorated with a moulded design of raised lines on the form of a crude anchor.

Lead alloy button. A two part button with a solid, conical front and a separately applied copper alloy drawn wire attachment loop at the rear. The front is decorated with cast raised lines radiating from the centre. The back is flat and has the wire loop embedded in it.

One complete copper alloy one-piece button and 5 button fronts from composite buttons.
Button 1: A lead alloy one-piece button with an integral attachment loop (not drilled). The button is domed at the front and flat at the back and is solid cast. The front is decorated with a central raised pellet and two rows of overlapping scales or petals around the outer edge. The shank of the attachment loop is circular in cross section and the loop has a circular aperture.There is a casting ridge around the loop and across the diameter of the flat back.

A copper alloy one-piece button. The button is discoidal with a convex front and concave back. The front is decorated with an engraved six-pointed star with a punched circle containing three annulets at its centre, all framed by a circle of annulets, the spaces between the points filled with many closely packed tiny annulets and six large crescents. There is an outer six arched tressure formed from annulets of the same size as those in the circle. At the rear, the drilled trapezoidal loop has a rectangular section with rectangular ends.

An incomplete solid cast lead alloy button with missing solderd wire shank. The4 button is bi-convex and the front is decorated with incised lines forming a double-strand triangular frame around cross hatching of three triangles, transversly in-filling the points of the frame and leaving a void in the centre. There is a double stranded chevron incised at the mid point eacj of the outer edges of the frame. The rear of the button is undecorated and retains traces of a possibly copper alloy loop with a blob of solder.
