A complete cast lead or lead alloy  papal bulla of Pope Boniface IX (VIIII) dating to the Medieval period November 1389 - October 1404. The front (recta) side of the bulla depicts the faces of Saints Peter and Paul with a cross between them. Over the images appears the abbreviation of St Paul and St Peter 'SPA SPE'. St. Paul is depicted with a long beard and a balding scalp with little hair, and St Peter has a crimped beard with curly hair formed from small sub oval pellets. Half of a lead medieval papal bulla probably dating to c. AD 1187-1404. There is less than half remaining but the bulla was originally circular and flat with a hole down the middle for the cord. It has broken along this hole, presumably when it was removed from the document. The obverse with the papal name within a pellet border only has a small section of inscription left. A cast lead papal bulla probably of Pope Innocent IV (in office 1243-1254). The obverse reads INNO/CENTIVS/PP I[V] in three lines. The reverse is very worn, but the faces of St. Paul and St. Peter with the inscription SPA above Paul and SPE above Peter, within a border of small pellets, a cross pattee between them can be identified.  The bulla has a cream coloured patina. Faintly visible on the front is the usual depiction of the faces of St Peter and St Paul and traces of the legend S'PA S'PE, all within a beaded border. A medieval lead papal bulla of pope Boniface VIII (1294-1303). The obverse has the usual images of saints Peter and Paul in pelleted aureoles, although the expected abbreviated lettering; SPA SPE is badly damaged and illegible. The reverse bears the inscription BONI [F]AT[I]VS PP VIII.

About half of a cast lead papal bulla. The surviving part measures 38.2mm in diameter, 21.1mm in width, it is 4.2mm thick and weighs 28.5g. The obverse shows St Paul, with the inscription S'PA above. What is left of the reverse inscription, [---]E/[---]IV[-]/[---]IIII, suggests that the bull was issued under Pope Gregory IX (1227-41).

Lead seal. Ducal bulla of Marcantonio Giustiani(1619 - 1688), doge of Venice, dating to 1684 -1688. Sub-circular disc of lead with cast designs and inscriptions on both faces. The bulla is cast with longitudinal channel for a cord to allow attachment to a document. The seal has split along the line of this channel.
