A cast copper alloy annular brooch of medieval date. The brooch is oval with decorative elements to each side, a collet on one side and another protrusion on the other. It measures 29.96mm by 19.38mm by 4.39mm and weighs 1.99g. The tapering collet projects forwards from the frame and in the centre a circular piece of green glass has been set with calcium carbonate. The foot from a Roman cast copper alloy bow-and-fantail brooch. The brooch fragment is trapezoidal with slightly convex edges. There are three recesses on the front which would have held enamel (which does not survive) and some other decoration which is incised. The largest recess is centrally placed at the end of the fantail. It is hourglass-shaped. On each side of the hourglass there is a small circular recess. A cast copper alloy trumpet brooch of early Roman date. The brooch is 61.37mm in length and weighs 16.16g. The oval head is plain apart from an incised line which borders the edge, and a small semi-circular knop at the top. The bow starts off almost horizontal and it then curves downwards into a full acanthus knop. Below this the brooch narrows towards the foot, which begins similarly to an acanthus but then terminates in a flat oval. This is decorated with an incised ring and dot. An incomplete copper-alloy Late Iron Age to Early Roman (AD 25-60) Colchester brooch. The remaining part of the brooch consists of an almost complete bow. The foot, catchplate, wings and pin are all missing. The spring mechanism does not survive. The bow is short and tapering The metal is very worn and corroded. The surface is pitted. The metal has a mid brownish-red colour. This brooch is similar to examples in Hattatt, 2000, pp297, Fig. 156.

Copper alloy bow brooch. Wings and upper bow of a t-shape brooch.The wings are cylindrical and house an iron axis bar. At the Head of the brooch is the remnant of a chain loop. The head is a flat panel with a criss incised on it. Below this is a transverse raised rib with short diagonal lines incised on it as decoration. Copper alloy bow brooch. Lower bow and catchplate of a trumpet or trumpet derivative brooch. The bow is D-sectioned. There is a fragment of the upper bow with cast decoration at the top. Below is is a deep groove above an expanded acanthus-style knop, another groove and a raised transverse rib. Below this the leg of the bow tapers before flaring out again into a transverse knopped foot. The leg is decorated with flanking, longitudinal grooves. An incomplete Roman T-shape brooch, dating from the 1st-2nd century AD. The pin is hinged with a single pierced lug, it is nor clear whether the axis bar is made from iron or copper alloy. The pin itself is badly corroded and fragmentary. It is held by a rearward facing catchplate which is also in a fragmentary condtion, although the pin rest seems to be folded. Bent into shape from a single piece of faceted copper with terminals bent straight outwards, and with rounded knobs at the end, each containing an incised line around their circumference. Hattatt's type B2. The ring has an accentuated thickness away from the terminals and a trapezoidal cross section. 38.55mm diameter and 5.48mm maximum thickness of ring, the terminals are 14.08mm and 13.72mm long.

Copper alloy bow brooch, 'Wilsford' type with a missing pin. It has tubular wings one with probable mis-casting. There is a hole at the back to house the axis bar which is missing. There is a large notch between for the head of the hinged pin which is missing. At the ends of the wings on the front are moulded grooves and ridges, there are two grooves at each of the ends. An incomplete copper-alloy plate brooch of Roman date with a glass central boss. The surviving portion has traces of gilding on the front surface. The glass boss is missing and about half of the metal element survives. It was originally oval in shape. The front of the brooch has an oval, lipped recess for the missing boss. Copper alloy plate brooch with enamel decoration. Lozenge shaped plate with red and traces of yellow enamel. The red enamel is applied to three lateral rows of outlined lozenge shaped recesses with undecorated centres. Between these in the resulting four rows of lozenges the surface is decorated with rows of tiny case pellets with what appears to be yellow enamel between them. At the back the surface is undecorated and the remains of the hinge point and catch plate remain. These are set behind opposite points of the lozenge along the long axis.
