A incomplete cast copper-alloy crotal bell of post-Medieval date. (Circa1550-1650). The bell chamber is spherical, with a moulded ridge running horizontally, at the point where the upper and lower hemispheres adjoin. The upper sphere has two circular sound holes and a integral, square, suspension loop. The lower sphere has a section missing between the two sound holes and the slit. A incomplete post medieval crotal bell of unusually large size, with a diameter of 71.55mm and height of 64.66 mm. The suspension loop is 14.58 mm high x 17.69 mm wide, with a circular aperture of 7.98 mm diameter. The suspension loop edges have file marks where it has been rounded off. Only about fifty per cent of the bell survives with two further fragments.There are two circular sound holes to the upper sphere and two sound holes to the lower sphere below the casting ridge. A post-medieval copper-alloy rumbler or crotal bell with the lower half missing. The bell originally had a spherical chamber.The surviving upper half has a square suspension loop and two sound holes of c.7 mm in diameter. The bell has broken just below the casting ridge. The missing lower section would normally consist of two further sound holes joined by a rectangular slit. Internally, most of these bells have a unattached iron pea to create the sound. A fragmented crotal bell with the foundry initials of W K . The lower section of the bell is missing, as is the iron pea and suspension loop. The remaining top half has split in two. Decoration consists of a sunburst pattern, in negative relief, at the centre of which are the letters 'W K' within a double circular groove border.
