An incomplete post medieval copper alloy spherical crotal or rumbler bell, dating to c. AD 1600-1800.
Approximately 50% of the lower hemisphere of the bell is now missing, sheared off from just beneath the sound holes, one of which would have been circular while the other appears lozenge shaped. There is a distinctly thickened rib at the equator of the bell, dividing the two hemispheres. An incomplete Post Medieval copper alloy crotal bell,with approximately 20 percent of the lower hemisphere missing. The bell is spherical in overall shape; at the top is a rectangular attachment hoop with a rectangular perforation. The lower hemisphere is decorated with a sunburst pattern and there is a linear opening, which is rounded at each end at the botttom. The upper hemisphere is undecorated and has two circular sound holes. A central raised ridge runs horizontally seperating the two hemispheres.
