It is rectangular and flat and stamped on both sides with the traditional symbol for 2 scruples (like a backwards capital E joined to a y with two dots above it) with a star above. It measure 12.3mm long, 10.5mm wide and is 2.8mm thick. It weighs 2.39 grams. This type of weight was in use from 1618 AD to the 19th century.
