A denarius of Julia Soaemias minted under Elagabalus between AD 218 and 222 (Reece Period 10), VENVS CAELESTIS, Venus seated left, holding apple and sceptre; child to left. Mint of Rome. RIC IV, pt 2, p. 48, no. 243. The copper alloy corrosion is probably due to the low silver alloy (about 50% silver), rather than plating.
