A post medieval copper alloy trade token farthing issued by William Miinck at Blandford in Dorset, Williamson Dorset 18, dating to AD 1654. Ref.: Williamson (1967, 172).
This is the original variety of token for William Minck, the subsequent issue reading WILLIAM MINCK IN around W.M. on the obverse and IN BLANDFORD around W.M. 1657. William Minck was Bailiff of the Borough of Blandford in 1657. There is also a record of him marrying Elizabeth Bull of Bridport on 20th July 1654.

Williamson states that the initials H.D. may be intended, as Boyne says, for Alexander Haviland who was Mayor of Dorchester in 1669 when the token was issued.

A small copper alloy farthing trade token, very worn. The obverse has a shield with a coat of arms, possibly the tree and three wells denoting the City of Wells in Somerset. The token was found in the same area in Dorset as CORN-435F92, another trade token from Wells. The reverse bears what looks like the letters C W in the centre of the field, possibly under a crown but the edge of the token and its legends are missing. A similar item on the database is dated 1657 (SOM-5477BO) with the same initials and the same token with the crowned letters C W is listed after it in Williamson (196…

A Post-medieval copper-alloy 17th-century farthing trade token issued by the City of Wells in Somerset. The token is very worn but it is possible to see on the obverse a shield with a tree and three rectangular shapes representing the three wells on the city's coat of arms. The reverse is very worn but should show an elaborate crown above the letters C [W] for City of Wells. A very similar item on the database is dated 1657 (SOM-5477BO) with the same initials and the same token with the crowned letters C W is listed after it in Williamson (1967), p.993, nos.300-301.
