A complete copper alloy pipe tamper in the form of an upright hand grasping a cylindrical object with flared end (probably a scroll) The hand has long moulded fingers wrapped around the bar and a thumb and hollowed palm below. The bar flares to each end, terminanting in a flat, circular face. The ends of the bar are decorated, one end with a single circumferetnial groove, theopposite ned with two. A copper alloy nutcracker fragment. The object comprises the upper end of one arm of a pair of nutcrackers. The single point hinge at the head remains in the form of a rounded lug. The head is semi-hexagonal in plan on the obverse and is decorated with a floral pattern. The discoidal button has a flat upper surface, bevelled edge and is slightly concave on the reverse.
