A medieval quatrefoil cast copper alloy book mount . The book fitting has a central circular conical boss with a flattened top and stepped lower part of two steps which sits on a square base. The back of the base is hollow in the centre under the boss. From the base projects four arms, one from the centre of each side. The short arms have a fleur-de-lis terminals each with a circular rivet hole in the centre. The entire piece is 44.2mm by 44.7mm and 7.7mm thick; it weighs 19.76g. Part of a complete copper alloy knife handle and the iron knife tang of post-medieval date, circa AD 1756 - 1763.The handle is comprised of two sub-rectangular strips of metal each broken at one end, one currently longer than the other. The missing end would have been the terminal of the handle, the remaining end would have been where the handle met the blade. A broken copper alloy brooch dating an Early Medieval date. It is elongate and is decorated with an interlace design of seven cells containing a spiral pattern within an outer border. On the reverse are the stubs of the lug to hold the hinged pin at one end and the catchplate at the other, the pin is missing. The brooch is broken in two. Date: c.410 - 1066. Dimensions: 56.69 mm x 9.48 mm 8.10 mm. Weight: 6.58 g.

A fragment of a Middle to Late Bronze Age copper alloy sickle, probably dating to c. 1500-800 BC. The fragment consists of a sub-triangular, curving fragment of blade, with a central mid-rib tapering into the edges in cross section. The fragment is truncated by an old break, with all edges being abraded. Length: 20.3mm; width: 15.6mm; thickness: 2.1mm; weight: 1.83g. cf. a similar, but more complete sickle found at Edington Burtle (Pearce 1983: 512-513, no. 648). The fragment is too incomplete to be further classified.

A fragment of Late Iron Age to early Roman copper alloy brooch, probably dating from AD 25-75. A hinged strip bow brooch, with only its head and upper bow remaining. The head of the brooch is damaged, but originally consisted of a rectangular sheet of copper alloy rolled under itself to form the wings for a lost axis bar; the right wing has been lost whilst the left is now broken at the fold. A post-medieval copper alloy double loop buckle dating to cAD1500 - AD1650. The loops are both oval in shape and with the outer edge extended into a point with a transverse notch for the pin, one is slightly chipped at the point. The pin is missing. There is a patinated break through one loop but it is only slightly distorted. The buckle has a shiny brown patina, especially on the convex front but is plain on the flat back. It measures 39.81mm in length, 22.88mm in width, 2.69mm in thickness and weighs 4.72g. A similar example can be found in Whitehead (2003:55) no.315 which he sugges…

A copper alloy ring of uncertain date and function. The ring has a sub-circular frame and flat sub-oval cross section. Diameter: 21.5mm; thickness: 3.5mm; weight: 2.18g. It is difficult to parallel such an undiagnostic find, similar rings have been found associated with Roman coin hoards (cf. SOM-0870A5), presumably part of the bag which had held the hoard, but may have been used for a variety of purposes at different points in time, cf. also SWYOR-158878.
