Medieval gold Quarter Noble of Edward III (Treaty Period), measuring 19mm in diameter and weighing 1.74g (26.8 grains), with a die axis of 6. It is slightly clipped, has some wear and has been folded and straightened.
Obverse: Shield with Arms of England and France quarterly within a tressure of eight arches +EDWARD:DEI:GRA:RE[X:ANG]L double saltire stops
Reverse: Elaborate cross with foliated extremities around a lis, lion passant guardant in each angle, lis in centre all within a tressure of eight arches +EXALTABITVR:IN:GLORIA double saltire stops
