The hexagon is not regular; two parallel and opposite sides are longer than the others, making it 19.64mm long but only 12.41mm wide. A copper-alloy fragment from the front sheet plate of a medieval composite strap-end (c. 13th-14th century). The plate is sub-rectangular; it has broken perhaps halfway along the object, based on its engraved design, with a ragged, old break. The terminal has bevelled corners, with angled cuts. Along one long edge there is evidence on an engraved border, on the front. A worn copper-alloy harness pendant of medieval date, broken through the top of the apex loop but otherwise complete. The form of the artefact is that of an 'elaborate quatrefoil' (Ward Perkins's (1940, 118) Type V), that is, with lozengiform protrusions between the semicircles. Central on one of the semicircles is the suspension loop with sub-circular perforation, now broken; it is perpendicular to the main body of the pendant. The object is slightly curved in profile.
